SALMON MONTH

Rod Federer Goblet Winner

Rod Federer Goblet Winner

This weekend’s Goblet was Salmon. The weather was sunny and calm with daytime temperature around 18c, perfect fishing weather, however, no one told the fish as it was quite slow going and not too many caught.   With school holidays coming to an end only six anglers entered fish although many more had taken to the water. The six anglers consisted of one Lady and five Men who between them caught 29 fish with only four of them Salmon.

RECORD BREAKING WEEKEND

Gav Robinson Men's Outside Winner

Three new length records were recorded this weekend, Jeanie Dixon caught a Leatherjacket 45.5cm breaking the existing record held by Bruce Kennedy by 6.9cm but her hold on the record was short lived only to be taken out by Gavin Robinson who caught a 51.7cm Leatherjacket.   Gavin also secured the record for Nannygui, catching a 34cm fish, knocking off the existing record held by Mathew Roberts at 31.7cm.

Unfortunately for Jeannie it was not the only record she would lose over the weekend as she was the current record holder for a 39.7cm Gurnard. Rod Federer took care of that, catching 41cm one and securing the new record.
